Meath Hunt Pony Club was established in 1933. It is one of the oldest pony clubs in Ireland. There are currently 110 members in our club.
Throughout the years we have had a number of well known sport persons pass through our club. Olympian Natalya Coyle competed in the summer Olympics 2012 and again in 2016 in modern pentathlon.
Well known jockey Barry Geraghty is also a past member of our club. He has ridden a number of winners throughout his career riding his first in 1997 and 3 years later became the Irish champion jump jockey. His list of famous rides is endless.
Another past member is Susan Oakes. Famous for riding side saddle. She holds the world record for jumping a 6 foot 8 inch puissance wall. She enjoys competing in steeplechase racing and show jumping riding side saddle. Susan’s mother Clare is still very involved in The Meath Pony Club.
